Valle Gran Rey and its beaches
It is about 2.5 km to the beaches, of which the Valle Gran Rey has several.
The average temperatures are in the range of 18-25 degrees all year round. Deviations can occur due to the calima, the hot Sahara wind, which can quickly increase temperatures by up to 10 degrees.
Depending on your taste, you can swim in the early hours of the morning between the sailing boats and with the rays on the beach of Vueltas, go on a whale watching excursion, or enjoy the high waves sloshing over the sloshing waves at Playa del Inglés in the black beach. The black volcanic sand on La Gomera is very rich in minerals.
The beaches Babybeach and the harbor beach are particularly suitable for small children. Both have always sand and the waves are not as strong as at Playa Calera. The Baby Beach, actually called Playa Charco del Conde, is located between La Puntilla and the port of Vueltas. The Baby Beach is so named because nature has created a pool there that contains little water when the waves are normal. Ideal for building sandcastles, discovery tours and swimming. The harbor beach also has a lot of sand and calm waves thanks to the harbor wall.
The Atlantic is often wild, Gomera is not a typical bathing island. Nevertheless, you can usually swim in the sea and often surf.
In the evening you can watch the setting sun, take part in various beach events or be completely meditative.
There are daily music events of very good quality in La Playa. Also in Vueltas, Borbalan, La Calera there are daily events. Even late in the evening you can still eat Moroccan specialties in a simple atmosphere at Don Kebab on Calle Normara.
